The socialist paradise where it's hurry up and wait...or die;
J. M. de los Ríos Children's Hospital in Caracas [Venezuela] is unable to carry out heart surgeries or perform cardiac catheterization due to both lack of supplies and the existence of outdated or faulty equipment.
"We are facing downtime; we are working with what we have in stock," said Federico Borges, chief of the Cardiology Service at the hospital.
"Surgeries are been performed by the (Latin American) Children's Heart Hospital (HCIL). Since 2011, The (J. M. de los Ríos) Children's Hospital has referred 835 patients for surgery, but only 20% of them have been solved. Hence, 650 of our patients are waiting," Borges explained.
