don't peddle your wares in Pakistan;
Veena Malik, the Pakistani Bollywood film actress, has been sentenced to 26
years in jail for “malicious acts of blasphemy” for appearing in a mock
television wedding scene based on the marriage of the Prophet Mohamed’s
daughter.
Malik, 30, who lives in Dubai, expressed her disbelief at the sentence. “26
years! Come on. 26 years is a lifetime,” she told Gulf News. “But I have
faith in higher courts in Pakistan.
“When the final verdict comes, it will do justice to me. Nothing bad is going
to happen.”
