Do the Right Thing

In the George Zimmerman trial in Florida the prosecutor continues to bolster the defendant's claim of lawful self-defense by calling as a witness a police officer who interviewed him after the shooting of Trayvon Martin on February 26, 2012. Doris Singleton can be heard on the audio tape of her conversation telling Mr. Zimmerman, 'You did the right thing.' (for calling the police to report his suspicions).

In addition to playing the complete audio for the jury, in which Zimmerman tells a perfectly plausible story of being jumped by Trayvon Martin from some bushes, in the dark, the officer also reads Zimmerman's written statement which says the same thing.

Will the defense even bother to call its own witnesses, is about the only unanswered question in this travesty. That, and will the judge have the courage to simply dismiss the charges rather than send the jury out to deliberate. Let's call it, the reasonable woman test.
