Then there's Bad DeLong

When he's not being one of the country's most accomplished economists, he uses his imagination, overtime, to slander others (who aren't alive to defend themselves);
And then there is the fascinating (and apparently missing) letter from Hayek to Thatcher, apparently urging that Thatcher go all Pinochet-medieval on Neil Kinnock and Arthur Scargill....
DeLong is admitting that he has never read this letter--'apparently missing'--but passing judgment on its contents; 'apparently urging that'.

Nice work if you can get it. And you can get to it easily if you don't care that you're betraying certain prejudices (because your usual suspects won't tell you they've noticed) on the road to sophism.

Btw, what IS the proper response to Allende-Castro-Stalinism? And would it have accomplished what Augusto Pinochet did...a free and prosperous Chile?
