Because of what I've done for you lately, says Seattle Seahawk free agent Michael Bennett;
“There’s no such thing as a discount,” Bennett said on NFL Network. “This is not Costco, this is not Walmart, this is real life. There’s no discount, really, because you don’t go out there and give a discount effort. You go out there and give the best effort every day, you fight for your teammates, and you want to be compensated for the way you perform and the kind of teammate you are.”Iow, it's called professional football for a reason, and the Laws of Supply and Demand definitely apply.
“Man, it’s so great, but you have to have a great balance,” Bennett said on “NFL Total Access.” “You want to be loyal to your teammates that you’re playing with and you got into a good situation with and you won the Super Bowl with. But also you have a family, so you want to be in the best situation for them. It’s all about which team wants you. Every team says they want you, but somebody has to open up that wallet and actually sign that check.”
“It’s definitely a business,” he added. “And people hate to say that it’s that, but it is what it is. I would love to play for the Seahawks, but they’re gonna have to want me back and the numbers have to be right.”Which is something for taxpayers to remember the next time they're asked to fund a billion dollar stadium for the Bennetts of the world to perform in.
