Today, in what used to be the George Zimmerman second degree murder trial, the prosecutors having finally realized that they have no case at all for what they've charged the defendant--and for which he's being held to a million dollar bond--have abandoned that, and are now arguing for a charge of child abuse. Trayvon Martin being 17 years old at the time of his death.
One might be excused for thinking they've stumbled into a Monty Python skit while looking for a Florida courtroom. Though the prosecutor making the argument isn't laughing at himself. Nor has the lamentably inept Judge Debra Nelson guffawed during the presentation of this novel theory.
Harper Lee couldn't have made this one up.
