The actual allusion is to Kurtz, in Heart of Darkness. Nothing especially to do with slavery -- though possibly worse.Got it. Milton Friedman wasn't a slave master, he was worse; Kurtz, with a heart of darkness. That casts an entirely new light on Prof. Galbraith, all right.
